Privacy Policy — Fiber Color ID

The short version

Fiber Color ID does its work entirely on your device. It has no accounts, sponsored content, or usage tracking. Practical Byte Apps does not operate any server that receives information about you or about what you look up.

What the app does

Fiber Color ID converts between fiber numbers and fiber colors for loose-tube and ribbon cable. Every calculation is arithmetic performed on your device against a color table built into the app. The app does not need an internet connection to do its job, and it does not send your work anywhere.

Information we do not collect

Practical Byte Apps does not collect, receive, or store:

• The fiber numbers, cable counts, tube or ribbon sizes, or colors you enter
• Any identifier for you or your device
• Your location
• Usage or measurement data
• Identifiers used for marketing or promotional targeting

The app contains no marketing SDK and no usage-measurement SDK. It makes no network requests as part of its normal operation.

Information stored on your device

The app saves a small amount of information locally so it behaves sensibly between uses:

• Your last cable configuration — mode, cable count, and tube or ribbon size, so the app opens where you left off.
• Whether the one-time unlock has been purchased on that device.

This information stays on your device. It is not transmitted to Practical Byte Apps, and it is removed when you delete the app or clear its data.

Purchases

Fiber Color ID offers a single one-time purchase that unlocks ribbon mode, custom tube and ribbon sizes, and cable counts above 144. The charge is not recurring. There is nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.

The purchase is processed by the Apple App Store on iOS and by Google Play on Android, according to the store you bought it from. Practical Byte Apps never receives or stores your payment card details.

The app asks the store whether this device owns the unlock, and stores that answer locally. Apple's and Google's handling of your purchase is governed by their own privacy policies and payment terms.

Because there are no accounts, a purchase made on one platform is not recognized on the other. An unlock bought on the App Store applies to your Apple ID; an unlock bought on Google Play applies to your Google account.

If the app cannot reach the store — for example when you are working with no signal — it continues to honor an unlock it has already recorded on that device. It will not lock paid features because a check failed.

Support communications

If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. That correspondence is used only to answer you. It is not added to a mailing list and is not shared with anyone else.

Children

Fiber Color ID is a professional tool for telecommunications work. It is not directed to children, and Practical Byte Apps does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy — for example if a future version introduces a feature that requires a network connection — this page will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change.
